What’s the Process?
Consultations
Laser eye surgery consultations are comprehensive eye exams that determine if your eyes are healthy enough to have surgery. These consultations can also help us determine which type of laser eye surgery is best for you and your eyes.
However, laser eye surgery isn’t for everyone. Some conditions might prevent you from having the procedure, including:
- Eye diseases
- Eye injuries
- Dry eyes
- Conditions like diabetes
- Large pupils
Co-Management
Once we determine if you’re a candidate for laser eye surgery, we’ll put you in touch with an ophthalmologist who will perform the procedure. While we don’t perform laser eye surgeries in our practice, we do help you manage the healing process.
Following the procedure, we’ll book a series of appointments to monitor your eyes and provide care when needed. We may prescribe eye drops and other medications to make sure your eyes are healing properly.
It’s common to experience some uncomfortable side effects after your surgery, but these are normal. Side effects can include:
- Dry eyes
- Light sensitivity
- Halos
- Glare
