This past Thursday, I was fortunate enough to be able to educate the students on eye health at Pine Valley Middle School Health Fair in San Ramon. I am thankful to our staff for putting together fun goody bags for the students so they can learn about eye health. We informed the students on when they should receive their first eye examination as well as the dangers of blue light from excessive screen time. In addition, I was able to educate the students on eye anatomy by dissecting a cow eye. It was great to see the students so engaged as they asked questions during the dissection. Afterwards, the students had an opportunity to touch and feel the different parts of the eye. The faculty and PTA volunteers were a great help and we look forward to helping out at the next health fair!
